piano stories

Little Hares

In a green green turnip field
Two little hares were elegant
One was playing the flute
The other was hitting the drums

This time they play the piano (elegant too)
In the green green turnip field
Careful one touches the keys
The other feels the vibration of the strings

Where could the hunter be
In the green turnip field?
He does not shoot the pianist
Who is trying so hard

This is a different version of a traditional Dutch  children's song, where little hares get shot in a green turnip field.

Lola and the Pianola

I am the classy Lola, the favourite of the season
I have a Pianola in my house, in my private region
I am the classy Lola; I am the love of every man
But the touching of my pianola is what no-one can

I am the classy Lola, the favourite of the season
I have a pianola in my house, in my private region
And who wants to accompany me from below
His pedals will be kicked so he will know

Lola, Lola everyone knows me
When on stage it’s me you see
Greatly excited you will be
Men, men no-one will be kissed oh no
Only the company of my player piano

They call me naughty Lola

 chorus:
They call me naughty Lola, the wisest girl on earth
At home my pianola, it works for all it's worth
The boys all love my music I can't keep them away
So my little pianola keeps working night and day

They call me naughty Lola, the wisest girl on earth
At home my pianola, it works for all it's worth
Now I tell you a secret, don't hammer on the keys
For a little pianissimo is always bound to please

Verse:
Lola-Lola, everybody knows me
Ask the first man you see
He knows how to find me
Old men, young men, all fall into my net
They all want me to pet
There's a reason, you bet!
